Photography Tips for a Winning Baby Photo
 at Everyday Babies Free Baby Photo Contest.

All babies are beautiful and they are all "the most beautiful" in their mothers' eyes.  And we agree!  So please know that the free baby photo contest here at EverydayBabies.com is purely for fun and is not a "beauty competition".  We focus on the baby photo originality and the quality of the photo.  We also evaluate the child's expression, personality and the overall impression we get from the photo.  The more unique your baby photo is, the better your chance is to win our baby photo contest!   Studio photos are accepted but you should know that they don't do as well as snapshots because most of the props and backgrounds in these types of photos have all been seen before.  We want to see unique baby photos with tons of cute baby personality! It also doesn't matter if baby is smiling or not so don't go overboard trying to force baby to give you that perfect baby smile. We love photos with true everyday babies emotion.  That includes sad baby faces, silly baby faces, serious baby faces, crying baby faces, surprised baby faces and of course smiling happy baby faces.  Although, we tend to love (and choose) close up photos of baby's face, full body photos can do well too so long as there aren't distracting backgrounds.  Be sure not to put baby in front of a busy background that will take away from your baby's personality.  You can also overpower your baby's personality with overly fluffy, frilly clothing and accessories.  Remember, baby's are most beautiful in their natural state.  Keep it natural! One last tip we can give you to help you succeed in our free baby photo contest is to use the highest quality camera you can afford and get to know your camera's settings.  The higher quality camera = the higher quality photo.  That doesn't mean you can't get a great shot with a cheaper camera though, you can!  Just be sure to read your camera's manual and apply the tips they give you in there for using the settings to capture the best pictures!  Now that you've read our tips, go ahead and head over and enter our free baby photo contest!  See you there! This is a perfect example of a baby photo that captures emotion from the baby. It makes the viewer smile.  The photographer  is at a relatively good distance to get a good focus and yet great detail. The photographer is at  baby's level which lends to the beauty here.   The house behind baby is a good nondistracting back- ground. And the cute expression on baby's face made this a winner at our free baby photo contest! Overall an excellent photo!    This is a perfect example of a beautiful baby snapshot. There's no distracting background.  The photographer got down on baby's level so baby is looking directly into the camera. And we are not destracted by bright clothing or  oversized hairbows. Completely natural and beautiful!   This is a perfect example of a winning snapshot that captured the judges attention with her silly face.  The photographer is again, on baby's level and baby is looking directly into the camera making her a winner at our free baby photo contest! Beautiful! This is a perfect example of a great outside photo.  The background is very natural with no distractions to lead your eye away from the baby.  You can also see that the sun is behind the photograph because there are no shadows on baby's face.
